it might do some folks well to become more aquainted with history. Politics has always been a dirty business, and at many times it has been more dirty and spiteful than it is today.

the problem with the current situation in america is that politics and government (government being the effective running of the country and politics being the system whereby representatives are chosen) have become too integrated. when policy decisions are shaped by politics, then people will read politics into every policy development. it is sad that people are celebrating the indictment of Scooter Libby (I dont think anybody is celebrating the 2000) but it is primarily the fault of people like Karl Rove who have spent their professional lives blurring the line and endlessly provoking their opponents.
