Dare I say it?
This seems to be a case of rational environmentalism—economically viable and logical.

Notice that article myself. I could live with the idea that every new car purchased would include a mandatory 'pollution' charge.

Traditional conservative economics acknowledges the need for government regulation for neighborhood effects such as pollution. Getting the numbers right, and ensuring that revenue collected goes to actually deal with the problem can present challenges however.

This bit from the article amused me however: "We fully expected to target SUV drivers with SUV guilt," he said. "It just doesn't exist"
